My take on her is that she has some liberal points of view, but is mostly a moderate. As a presidential candidate she would have made a damn good president because she refuses to be controlled by the deep state sort-of organizations. She seems like she makes her own decisions based on her values and doesn’t bow down to the party. That said, as I was writing this post I looked at her voting record and she is not what I thought. She’s a liberal with the voice of a moderate. Her voting record makes it clear she believes in bigger government in most cases, curtailing rights in most cases, and in general not a friend of conservative values.

She’s a calculating politician from a tiny liberal state who is always looking for ways to develop broader national appeal so she can fulfill her large ambitions. Hence her focus on military and national defense matters.
She has to find issues that will allow her to escape the gravitational pull of being from the small, parochial state of Hawaii. Its her only path toward achieving higher political office.
That’s her game IMO.

When a democrat says one thing conservatives like conservatives seem to just swoon over them. Tulsi is a major abortion supporter, gun control advocate, supports “free” college, etc., etc. Just like Sinema, who some FReepers seem to love, Tulsi is 99% typical liberal democrat. Criticizing other democrats, and supporting one or two conservative positions, does not make someone a conservative.
