What counties charge in Taxes is totally controled by the state.

In the last year I paid $6,000 to the state in Robinhood payments. That is more than My entire Tax bill 15 years ago.

The counties don’t decide they can “ONLY” raise properties taxes 10% EVCERY YEAR on a house that has ZERO improvements and hasn’t been sold. That is over 70% in five years.

It should be 2% and that is all on Abbott being out of touch and being drunk on other peoples money.

Robinhood payments fund other school districts, and you can pin that on the state judiciary for mandating that.

The state has capped property tax rates at $2.50 per $100 valuation. The valuations are getting crazy with all the people moving in.
