They removed the boardwalk which allowed folks to see the tracks. They will now need to put up a fence so people won't walk on the tracks. But the fence will be outside of the tracked area, the tracks are difficult to see, so the folks won't be able to see the damage either. Problem solved!
And once word gets out that you can't see anything, folks will just stop going.
BTW - dinosaur tracks aren't “archaeological” as the article states.

I’m kind of surprised that they haven’t erected some kind of a shelter or roof over the tracks. It seems like they would eventually be worn away by exposure to the elements.
