This list is crap. Tujague’s in New Orleans dates to 1852. The Ashby Inn in Virginia was known to George Washington, as was Fraunces Tavern in NYC.

I have eaten in places from the 1780’s but not continually operated.

Fraunces Tavern, in the financial district of NYC, has some of the best fish and chips, on both sides of the pond :)

We offer a toast to George and Ben, when there.

It is where (the upstairs room) Gen Geo Washington bid farewell to his Continental Army.
