my question is, why doesn’t he simply float them a loan till the donation theft mess is straightened out
or make a donation himself
Musk is hard to categorize. Maybe he doesn’t want to make himself and his property the target of lunatics. Also, “simply float them a loan” would really mean making thousands of loans. Maybe he asked that question and his lawyers said, that would be a at lot of work, and at worst total repayment would be in doubt.
