The Olympics have always been used by governments as a propaganda tool. If you're too simple to realize that then I say what is it with you?
You like them? Fine. Just don't expect everyone else to kiss your butt over it. FR is not an echo chamber.

And that there is why I am glad to be an American. I can choose to watch some parts of the Olympics and not others....and I can like them. It matters not what anyone else thinks. And...if they don’t like it, I’m not indulging in butthurt.
(And...I’m not naming names, nor pointing fingers...but why is the most-watched poart of the Winter Games always....female figure skating? Continually gets the highest TV ratings, every Olympics? Just a thought.)

Well, it is immensely more artistic than skiing off a cliff or sledding down a hill. IMO, skating and hockey are the only events in the winter Olympics that are worth doing.
It is true that the skaters wear revealing costumes, but it is not necessary to regard that as salacious, lascivious, libidinous, or lustful—unless, of course, you want to, which is your right.
I hope so, too, but I ain’t watching, nor buying from its commercial sponsors. Bad enough all the Karen masks are made in China, and all the sh!t that WalMart sells. It’s impossible to do a total boycott, but we have to make a start.

(In reality, the vast majority of them are wearing full-body flesh-colored bodysuits under their next-to-nothing outfits. They are, in essence, fully-clothed-it just doesn’t LOOK like it. Why? It’s frikken ICE. It’s COLD out there!)
Except for the travel difficulties at present with Covid, it is actually an easy place to visit and if you don't do a tour, it is not a budget busters. Again, though, not with this Covid stuff going on.

I'm with you. You are not alone. Others as weel. But bring up China on FR and you get this reaction. Post from China and they will swear you are a member of the communist party. You would think some people on here get their information on China only from CNN.

Yea, but in the cities they handwipe the guardrails clear on the overpasses. Yep, been there plenty of times myself but you have to admit compared to some of our cities, it is not them that looks third world. Maybe they just do severely impoverished better because they are more practiced at it.
Fair enough. Haven’t been to any of their 27 empty cities though.
