I’m so sorry and sickened Over what is happening. It’s unbelievable. But you could go through all the trouble of moving here, and we could be next.
I did research but it was 7 years ago. So my spreadsheets would be woefly outdated. I compared Average home prices, property tax, sales tax, income tax, SAT scores just out of curiosity, incomes in the area, and most importantly boating. Voting as well. We also didn’t want an area that had a lot of building going on or manufacturing, that would bring in illegals.
Alabama will be pretty hot in the summertime. However you might get three growing seasons out of it, they did in California. I think you’ll get a lot for your money there. I don’t know anything at all about how they vote.
One thing to really watch out for here is states with a personal property tax. Some states even tax things like your furniture. But most of the time it is vehicles and equipment. You will pay every year just for the pleasure of owning it! Tennessee doesn’t have it but it’s surprising the number of other states that do.
