I had a neighbor that learned he would completely lose his sight in about two weeks

he came to my door distraught and was actually suicidal. I was a member of the Lions Club

I couldn’t find anyone to help him up the chain but since I actually knew another member

that had lost his sight as a young man as well

I was able to get them together and convince him that there was hope for the future.

Lots of these organizations have lost sight of their original charters.

I was never very impressed with Komen but

the widespread moral decay of society has eroded many once great organizations.

Might want to explain about the Lions Club charter - sight being a big deal.

When I was a little kid (raised in chicago) Lions would put on boxing nights.
They also had containers around to donate old eyeglasses.

I haven’t seen Lions as much of a presence anymore, though I haven’t been paying attention.
