Magenta doesn’t exist because it has no wavelength; there’s no place for it on the spectrum. The only reason we see it is because our brain doesn’t like having green (magenta’s complement) between purple and red, so it substitutes a new thing.

Okay - there used to be a pair of box turtles that came out
the woods and mated under an azalea bush in my back yard
every August, like clockwork for years.
The color of the azalea bush? Was supposed to be lavender.

turtle mating anyway? 'Reptile Nookie'? 'Slo-Mo Terrapin sex'?
