Funny, I don’t see one elected REpublican doing anything... at all. How about some hearings to sound the alarm. Maube a press conference, maybe something, anything. But, nope, nothing.
They do not care anymore, no longer working for the citizenry. Here in Pennsylvania, Sen Toomey’s interests lie in the Chamber of Commerce, banking and hating on Pres Trump. Dem Sen Casey is rarely seen or heard.
My republican state senator and congressman have pretty much gone silent after the 2020 election, most likely a result of the Republican majority voting for no-excuse mail-in ballots 10 months before the election and before Covid even surfaced. There is a lot of anger about how that all went down.
No one seems concerned at all, I agree, and it’s infuriating. I’m afraid it’s probably too late to change course, but we’ve got to keep trying at least. Call your reps and senators, get involved in local elections and poll watching, school board meetings, talk to everyone you can about what is happening.
I have been disappointed/hoodwinked by politicians for at least 50 years re this issue. The solution is not nor ever has been with them. Any reliance results in failure. It will only end when we begin in sufficient numbers to say it ends. Just like any other endeavor in our system.
Don’t expect any politician to “lead” us out of this. They just have a finger in the wind.
