Under George H. W. Bush there was a movement to make English the official language of the United States. There was no support from the globalist President Bush who also opted for weak enforcement of illegals crossing the southern border.
During the regime of George W. Bush, Congress actually passed a law to build a physical wall along the southern border. The Bush administration decided to build a “virtual” wall which was essential a boondoggle worth billions to Boeing for cameras, ground sensing devices and aerial surveillance which did nothing to stop the flow of illegals. The Obama administration scrapped the virtual wall when they came in.
Democrats set in motion the invasion with Teddy Kennedy’s immigration act in the mid 1960’s. Republicans, despite the desires of their base, did not put up a fight for secure borders until President Trump. Even then, Trump had no real support from his party in Congress during the first two year of his administration when Republicans controlled the White House and both Houses of Congress. Had McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan passed a bill to fund the border wall during the first year of the Trump Administration, most if not all of the wall would have been completed by the time Biden assumed office. However, McConnell and Ryan were not in agreement with a secure southern border so Trump had to scramble to take money appropriated for other uses and deal with lawsuits and bureaucratic foot dragging. Hence no continuous wall a millions of dollars of components which will be sold as scrap for pennies on the dollar.
The Bush family could have stopped what has occurred since the “one time” Reagan amnesty in the 1980’s. They chose to collaborate with the Democrats on open borders. Put the blame where it belongs.
Your progeny will all speak Spanish as a first language in time. Nobody does anything because give been satiated with ‘stuff’ for 75+ years. Now that you r comfortable in the showers, they can turn the gas on and end your ass.

This may be true but the Congress critters we elected, and the leaders they elect for themselves in Congress, despise their conservative voter base.
