gDeSantis is nowhere close to POTUS Trump. Something like 7%, to 56%. He’d be welcome as VP IMO

DeSantis would be wasted as VP. if he doesn't want to get into a primary brawl with Trump (which would probably leave both men damaged and possibly split the base), he should continue as FL gov and prepare for 2028.

We can only hope Trump learns to make better hires and better endorsements. And if he doesn't - well, even with all of the bad hires and back-stabbing in his first term, 2017-2020 were the best the US has done in decades.

DeSantis knows best where he can be most effective. It’s not in a failed run for POTUS this cycle. I agree he is very effective in Florida and will continue to gain stature.
POTUS made lots of baad hires but many were forced on him by Mitch and the RINO as exchange for getting anyone confirmed and for limited grudging support for Trump’s agenda. The composition of the Senate is changing and Trump may have aa freer hand with his selections.
If only Mitch is not speaker in future!

He was given a pre-approved list of potential nominees, seems to me. Anyone not on the list would never get confirmed.
