Interesting. I’ve never heard that album. The Youtube video which features Lane is a regular in my video playlist. I’m familiar with the song from the Rushmore soundtrack too and that looks like it’s probably Woods version. They do sound very similar.

That is Lane on the Rushmore version and you are right, he does sound a lot like Wood.

The version i'm accustomed to is the one from the album, which is wood. I also hear the song a lot on the several "radio" stations I have on my Pandora: Van Morrison, Faces, Chris stapleton, Hipster cocktail, Faces, James Hunter, all of those stations play the Wood version.
