It did and it’s been a long time since I’ve felt that way about my fellow citizens as a group. It began with frequent insults about President Trump starting in 2017, just parroting what they heard in the liberal media, and assuming I felt the same. It crested in watching them line up so quickly for their repeated vaccinations and be so forceful in their condemnation of those who didn’t.
If Ottawa remains the liberal city it was when I left in 1998, there may even be counter-protests against the truckers. It’s a liberal, pro-government city and I’m guessing they’re largely in favour of vaccination mandates. I’m not sure what to expect from the citizens when the convoy arrives, but watching my countrymen show support along the routes has been joyful.
