I’ve finally accepted that we are truly at war. I’ve also accepted that wars have casualties and I may very well end up being one of them. The other side has co-opted our doctors to their side. If that means we have to abandon our doctors and die of something otherwise curable, maybe that’s the way it needs to be to secure freedom for others going forward. If we abandon the doctors, they won’t be able to pay their student loans and maybe they’ll decide to accept other forms of payments from patients and move from the dark side to our side. That’s dangerous thinking and heretical to say, but that may be where we’re headed before we can end this.

Wow, you said a mouthful there, and it bears repeating. I don't think it's heretical at all, and I've believed for a long time that when it comes to our health, each one of us must be our own primary care provider.
