It's fair to say that one of the most hazardous places on the planet is a carrier deck during flight operations and the risks go exponential during recovery (aka landings).
IIRC an absolutely perfect arrested landing got a rather laconic grade of "OK TRAP" from LSO (Landing Signals Officer) and the sailors assigned to flight deck duty were either damn good or dead man walking around. (I've transferred my share of careless sailors from a soft touch training command job and I'm certain the trigger for Chiefs on those carriers is finer than frog hair.)
YMMV, but I'd bet my life on those people on active duty right now. Those Press Conference Perfumed Princes consider themselves on another plane of existence and maybe they are.
