That point is not even valid here in the USA as the vast majority of power is natural gas, then nuclear and about equal amounts of renewables and coal. But added together nuclear and renewables are 40% and gas is 40% so an electric car in the USA would be on avg 40% green, 40% clean burning natural gas which those plants are much clearer than and car exhaust could hope to be. And only 19% coal which all.ha be scrubbers on the stacks too.

Perspective? We don’t need no perspective.
Is that something like the big picture? Because we definitely don’t need that either.

“There could possibly be a decent money making opportunity here for the person who figures out how to successfully recycle lithium based batteries.”

They already have that technology, LUDDITE.

(please ignore the fact that a recycled battery cell costs over twice as much as one made from raw materials)

—”Not that many will be able to afford EVs.”

You simply need to purchase it in a state with max incentives, plus the federal; also helps if you are a member of the correct group and collect welfare.

Normal taxpayers; not so much.

The problem with Tesla is the quality control isn’t great and if something breaks it could take weeks to fix it, because Tesla isn’t in the business of Repairing cars, it’s in the business of making new cars.

Everyone who buys a Tesla has a back up gas powered car.

Switzerland is 1/3 the size of North Carolina.

Yeah--but it's all vertical. A bicycle would definitely get you in shape.

In U-Rope there are plentiful Diesel cars.

At least in the past we used to swap those distilled fuels in some quantity.

—” The entire country has a population about 30% smaller than the population of New York City, and almost one-third of all Norwegians live in the Oslo metropolitan area.”

So...
Oslo’s metropolitan area, also referred to as Greater Oslo region, which extends beyond the city boundaries, has an estimated population of 1,300,000 citizens. In the entire Oslo Fjord Region there is a total population of about 1.7 million.

And...
The Salt Lake City metropolitan area has ~1.24 million.

Therefore SLC is the location for EV sales.
PS New York is doomed, no hope and Cali too.

How long is that pipeline ... longer than the one with Cold Fusion just around the corner? Let’s get specific and give some benchmarks, time frames and costs.

We have a million more people in Michigan than Switzerland we have, um, er, a couple of dozen people driving electrics - unless they have to as part of their jobs, paid for by their marketing companies, government, who fight over the two charging stations in small lefty enclaves or university staffs and wear 3 masks and have gotten four vaccinations or so by now. (Some even have their 2022 mail-in ballot already)

I was met a Swiss National while hiking in Cabo San Lucas last month. She says when Euro’s see her Swiss pasport they assume she is rich. She said she was rich buy how much money she had, but not rich by how far that money went in Switzerland.

She was looking to get out permanently and had moved to Mexico temporarily in the last 3 months with plans to invest in a business in the US and get a US green card/ US citizenship.

She says the totalitarians are taking over Europe, and the Swiss have always fought them, but on Covid they gave up and she saw this was a sign they were going to give up on everything.

Totally anecdotal, but one Swiss person’s story on Switzerland from one month ago.
