The poem that became what we now have as our National Anthem was written by Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812. The US was by then a sovereign nation and not “colonies at war with the Mother Country Britain.”

I don’t understand your point. Who is “DF”? Naybe a type and you meant “BF”? I read his biography and I don’t think anyone can know exactly what his religious beliefs were other than he was a theist.
And not sure what you mean by “Why religion should be excluded”.
My point is that even though some of the founders had, as described by others above, differing religious beliefs that maybe some people here do not share, and one was even an atheist, still they worked together for the cause of freeing the colonies from Great Britain and creating a new country.
Thus, people wanting to restore our Republic and MAGA should stop nit picking about different religious beliefs.
That is my only point. I am not advocating any particular religious faith or denigrating any. I am advocating tolerating others’ different faiths or lack of same and not tearing them apart because someone thinks they are “wrong” in their beliefs.
