As much as I don’t like winter up here in the Northeast I do prefer the area. Just when you get sick of one season it changes. Summers are not so brutal. I know Southern Summers. I spent a LOT of time at my grandparent’s place in North Carolina growing up. Not to mention the insects and spiders down there. Yeesh. The first time I saw a rhino beetle I was freaked out for years.
I don’t mind snow. What I do mind is what happened this morning. Four inches of snow and then at least an inch or two of rain on top of it. Plowing and shoveling that stuff was BRUTAL.

That kind of snow sounds like the storms we would get in North Carolina where I grew up. The snow topped with a crust of ice…that’s the stuff that snaps power lines. We were stuck without power for a week after one of those storms. This was before Costco and before everyone had portable generators. We were hauling buckets of water from the pond up to the barn to water the horses because the well pump was electric. Ugh! Then it would melt in the afternoon and refreeze overnight. I feel for ya….that wet snow is heavy and hard to shovel.
Builds character though 😉
