“I think that’s true - especially the non-stop use of anecdotal “evidence”.”
I respectfully disagree. This is ALL WE HAVE to try and make prudent decisions for ourselves and our families.
evidence is evidence anecdotal or otherwise. I certainly weight it appropriately... and sure appreciate having it to consider.
You are right - for personal choices we need to rely on whatever we have - even if it’s just a gut feeling.
There is nothing wrong with sharing experiences with each other or giving warnings about bad feelings we have.
My beef with the anecdotal stuff is when it passes itself off as science - and that’s what I’m seeing a lot of.
We are being bombarded every day with reports of that refer to “studies”, and purport to give statistical evidence - to pass themselves off as science - and they are clearly agenda-driven.
This is no different than sensational reporting of every weird local weather anomaly - as if it is proof that man-made climate change exists.
But until they convince me that man-made climate change is actually causing the weird weather anomalies - it doesn’t help their argument to continue piling onto the heap of anecdotes about weather anomalies.
I’m all for sharing experiences and concerns - and by all means - if you have a foreboding feeling - don’t wait for scientific proof - seek shelter! Reduce your carbon footprint! Increase your carbon footprint! Get the vaccination! Avoid the vaccination!
That that is not what I was complaining about.
