Turks terrorized Middle East, Southern and Eastern Europe for hundreds of years. Millions of Europeans were enslaved by the Turks. Even now grandmas in that area scare unruly kids by claiming that “Suleiman” will come and take you away.
No wonder, Turks are generally disliked especially in Balkans, whose Christians suffered the worst.
This is a tragic history, not really reported in the US.
