There were, however, student newspapers, “fanzines”, and of course peer pressure, never mind the same old liberal media that we are currently dealing with.

Student newspapers wrote about the football team, fanzines were gaga over Leif Garrett, and peer pressure was drinking a beer, smoking a joint, or have you done 'it' yet.

Simpler unwoke times.

There were fanzines and then there were fanzines. And college student newspapers were about different subjects from high school ones.

  1. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

  2. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

  3. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy.” …
If you are characterizing “doing ‘it’” as not being part of what is called “woke culture” today (or rather the slippery slope towards same), take a look at the corresponding communist goals for the USA whose publication in Skousen’s book six decades ago outlined the plan to strip the USA of its morals and make the country ripe for conquest.
