I lived in Ft. Worth, TX, in 1970, and a winter storm hit bringing a few inches of snow with it, with blowing snow throughout the day... having moved from IL, the previous year, the storm seemed normal or run of the mill, but- local agencies were limited to their responses because they only had so many snowplows to respond to the storm. The Appalachians suffer from the same problem.

It happens so rarely we don’t have equipment or anything. It usually passes quickly, except for last year. They have announced that almost all power companies have winterized, so we’ll see how that work out.
