Ive heard a lot of stories about a lot of creatures where people wound up with some strange meat. I once bought a calf and had it processed and the whole thing tasted like fish, not even lifetime career butchers working elsewhere would hazard a guess as to what happened. Im guessing it may have been eating something strange. I suppose anything is possible with a wild animal.
Despite the strange things Ive heard about eating many kinds of game, I havent experienced any of them that werent related to poor processing. Ive heard stories about tough old turkeys that had to be melted into strings like an open faced hot turkey sandwich to eat them but Ive never heard of one that didnt taste equal to or better than a store bought.
The biggest wild turkey I ever ate was quite tender. I suspect it was engaged in antitechnology protesting when I happened along. I was doing about 70mph East when It attacked my Jeep by flying at about 40mph West right into the grill of my old Jeep and blew it up.
Now you might assume that the impact tenderized it. The oddest thing though was that there was actually very little damage to the meat at all. Its skeleton shattered and crumpled into the body cavity destroying the organs but leaving everything else pretty much intact.
Some might say that its kind of an expensive way to hunt turkey but the meat was almost worth it.
Yes, very expensive way to hunt meat and destroy a good jeep.
Thanks for sharing.
If the price of meat continues to rise, and Bye-done has no clue as to why or will change anything to fix it, I may just take to running down supper too.

lol, nice story!
