It was awful for him, Gran. He was on large amount of powerful painkillers and could not let the doses lapse. His wife is a very dependent lady, and she has not driven in years because he takes her everywhere. I had to take her shopping and be available if she needed anything. I certainly didn’t mind, but it was awful to watch him. He’s a very active guy, always doing something and helping others. Thank goodness they got him help, eventually.
A kidney stone pain has been compared to childbirth pain except without the joy of a child at the end.
