Hello all- I’ve returned from the wilderness, literally and figuratively.
After calling it a season, I served some time as a caretaker in the foothills of the Sierras, at a newly acquired property that the resort’s new owners bought, to use as a base camp for their family and the resort’s staff.
I then returned home for Thanksgiving, until winter hit Mammoth Lakes, CA. The resort’s former owner solicited me and another employee to help him shovel snow for absentee homeowner’s homes, that he provides overwatch for, before, during and after Christmas, and once that was done, I headed home arriving 30 minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve.
I would like to note that the Mammoth Lakes area of central California, received 193” of snow during just the month of December. That’s literally 16’ and 1” of snowfall in one month. It - was - brutal! I am so relieved to be in the desert southwest now, and not in that snowmageddon. Good grief.
More to report, but for now I am bouncing from this thread to one I actually posted last night, having traveled to DC last January, to support President Trump, and to protest the election STEAL peacefully.
Currently listening to The War Room. 🤜🤛
