There are more than 200 Republicans in the House. If a bill is 2,000 pages, each one could be responsible for reading and explaining what is in 10 pages. I understand that these bills are often almost impossible to read as they are filled with language like ... Pursuant to such and such chapter and section of a previous law ..... but TEN pages each is doable. Each Congressman and Senator has a staff.
The only reason I can think of for not doing this is that these slimy politicians want plausible deniability when they go for reelection and to keep their donor money rolling in.
Just think of the kind of government we might get that would actually benefit the people if all donations had to come from that candidate’s own district. I can dream...
