A distorted guitar solo doesn't make a piece "Heavy Metal".
Lyrics such as "travel by my dragonfly", "groovy", and "cotton candy" don't help either.

That was my first thought. Hendrix doesn't remind me of heavy metal, and ESPECIALLY not this song.
