My hubby has had his “stash” and beard at least since 1980. l Only twice have I seen him without it —he shaved it off when he went on job interviews in 1990 and again in 1994.
With him clean shaven, he was the spitting image of his sister. Made me feel real weird to kiss him. Couldn’t wait for him to grow it back out :-)

before we met. When our daughter was pre-school age, he shaved it off, then grew it back when daughter told someone she had “a new daddy.” When he retired, he grew the full beard, which no longer is red but is now white. - I always did like that Christmas song about mama kissing Santa.😁
