And millions (including me) are just getting sick and recovering without taking an “official” (non home) test and reporting to the state.
I actually think most people can and do quarantine “enough.” The CDC says 2 days prior to symptoms and 3 days after is when people are most infectious.
I just had covid and I had no desire to go out of the house anyway for 3 days after symptoms started.
The problem, I think, is the 2 days prior when I was infectious but had no symptoms.
Samr here. Not sure what it is but it feels like a weak version of the covid I had when this thing started. I won’t get tested in case it is covid, I don’t want the government to be using any illness of mine for their propaganda.
thank you for not being a sparkly jerk and for staying home.
I’m conflicted a bit on the UK contract tracing system because it is privacy invasive but it does notify you within a day of a positive test of your close contact, which is great for catching folks pre-symptom so they can self-isolate, and faster than the US system. The brits have always been very good at organizing, tho.
Thank goodness you are recovering. Between extended family and clients, we’ve had a few phone calls over the past year we really hoped to not receive.
Apart from an oscillating temperature, inability to taste many foods and some pain in the chest, it hasn't been much more nuisance than a typical bout with the flu.
I didn’t feel up to going out for 3 weeks in March 2020 because of my dry cough and extreme fatigue. I only went to the supermarket because we were running out of food. I didn’t feel like my old self for 6 weeks.
My friend who is a home healthcare worker and her husband weren’t feeling well over Christmas. Both continued to work. Both got Covid tested as soon as they could. She tested positive, he tested negative. No Quarantine required because they were told they were “past the infectious stage”. 🤔
