I have many stories that are far worse and don’t even compare.
However, you did the right thing as direct pressure is the number way to stop bleeding.
Bare hand eh?
A big City is not nearly as controlled as a County Jail.
I’ve had to go home in hospital scrubs many times as my uniform and other items had to be placed in double bagged Bio Haz bags for proper disposal.
I’ve had to use a condom with my wife until test came back from patients that I’ve had large exposures from. HIV and HIB testing took about 4-7 days then.
I’ve had blood in my mouth, nose, eyes, soaked into my cloths and down into my Kevlar vest, my hair (started shaving my head because of that)…….
