The reason that the so-called Omicron variant was first identified in South Africa is because Africa had been relatively (to the rest of the world) covid-free due to their prevelant usage of HCQ for other problems.

Anyway, your friend's words (anecdotal hearsay) have no bearing on this. And if you base any reliance on the 'reporting' of 'adverse events' in Africa, you are more of a child than I thought.
