On December 26 Israel will begin administering the fourth vaccine dose to over 60’s, some immuno-compromised people, and health care workers.
If you thought this decision was based on medical research, well, think again. This is what actually happened.
On December 21 health chief Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis said that a study was to begin at Sheba Medical Center the following day. The results of this study would inform the decision whether to go ahead with vaccine #4.
Just 4 hours later and after a rebuke from Prime Minister Bennett, it was announced that the vaccine campaign would go ahead on the coming Sunday.
What happened to the Sheba study? On what basis was the fourth dose approved? Where is the research? Where is the data?
