I’ve got a recall for the passenger side airbag in my Silverado. It states that the inflator could spray metal fragments resulting in injury or death to the occupant.
I was thinking “does this product actually say “this side towards occupant?”” Does Takata make claymores?
LOL. I doubt that Takata intended to do that.
However.
Turn those car stylists loose on vehicle interiors and every surface (including the covers for the deflated airbags) are just..absolutely..going..to be......well, "enhanced" with bangles and spangles and decorative dodads.
Set off an air bag under all that stuff and I don't think you'd be able to tell it from a Claymore except maybe that the car interior ain't likely to be painted that lovely GI Green.
Just chalk up another FAIL to good intentions, I guess. /jk
