I agree with you that he is set for life, but not because he necessarily got a lot of money. The general consensus is that lawsuits that were settled quickly were probably nuisance awards, which are typically in the tens of thousands of dollars payouts. He would have settled those quickly, because the networks already have the lawyers paid for, so they can sit on a settlement until what would be paid out would just go to the lawyers and Sandmann gets nothing. Only NBC, so far, may have paid something much more significant, because of the length of time it took to settle.
When I say that he is set for life, he probably has his education paid for by the settlements for as long as he wants to be in school Coming out with a free degree, all the way to a doctorate, is nothing to sneeze at. If he invests his income, because it’s debt free, he could end up being worth $15-$20 million dollars before he retires.
He’s going to do ok.
