I had twenty wonderful years in CA, half in Marina del Rey in SoCal and half in San Francisco and lovely Mendocino. Wonderful memories including children and dogs running on the beach.
. Went back to SoCal for a funeral in the late nineties, couldn’t recognize the place then...and now? Who’d be nuts enuff to live there?
Such a very sad situation.
I went to SF every year for a conference from about 1980 to 1994 and loved it. Went back in 2019 and was appalled at what I saw. Human excrement on the sidewalks one block from Fisherman’s wharf, used needles in the gutters, people passed out in doorways...filth everywhere.
I’m done with SF.
I was pretty young, but we passed thru San Francisco when I was a young kid in 1964. I remember thinking it was a beautiful place. San Diego also seemed almost like a paradise. Things were weirder but still pretty nice in the 70s. By the 90s, like you, I wondered what had happened.
Now? I want a BORDER WALL - but I want it on the WEST side of Arizona!
