I was to travel through Chicago a while back and could not make myself do it after the last time. I ended up detouring so far south of the suburbs that I added more than a little mileage and time to the trip.
Worth it? Absolutely.
I escaped to Indiana eight years ago. If I walk two blocks to Lake Michigan, I get a good look at Chicago’s skyline. I haven’t been in the city since COVID hit, and I have no desire to go back.
