1.3 percent people dying who get covid no matter vaxxed or unvaxxed in Oregon. The percentages are 1.6 percent over all in the nation. In our region and in my hospital. similar numbers, 1.6 percent die who actually get covid but those who die are greater than 95 percent unvaxxed. The other 5 percent were those who were vaxxed real early and were older with lots of co-morbidities.
So Oregon is actually slightly better in the covid death department than we are in Central Virginia but we have a large and vax suspicious minority population and many overweight. We have seen them sicker and younger in the last wave but they were grossly overweight with lung and sugar issues and many with substance abuse histories. The lighter weight a person was with no bad habits then the greater the chance that we could save them once they hit our ICU.
Still we lose about 80 percent of them.(better than 90 percent a year ago). We are seeing fewer in the ICU of late though static in patient populations of in patients with covid still are averaging about 30 or so not counting the ICU. The treatments are getting better with certain experimental therapeutics and some new “vir” and “mab” oral pills they are trying(the names escape me right now) and they aren’t using remdesivir as much.(still not much IVM or HCQ unfortunately). They are better and looser with using aerosolized treatments then they were a year ago and I think that is helping a lot. We are seeing more vaxxed people(about 10 vaxxed to every 90 unvaxxed) coming into the med floors but they get better after a few days and go home and the Unvaxxed struggle a bit more but they too seem to be getting better with a bit of support and not coming to the ICU in the numbers that they were.
So the numbers coming into our hospital with covid are staying steady with discharges equal to admits but they aren’t crashing and dying like they had been. Better therapeutics and I hope soon a loosening on IVM and HCQ seem to be leading the way. We didn’t have to let COVID 19 crash this country and I’m beyond furious as an RN at the politics being played with this disease!
You are citing outdated numbers which were exaggerated to begin with by various means and incentives. At this point they have become entirely meaningless, but you learned them by rote and continue reciting them as if they were still valid. Unfortunately, this completely destroyed the credibility of the observations that you included in later paragraphs.
You do realize that the vaccines currently have very little protective value against the now prevalent variants which they were never designed to protect against? If not, then I certainly would not have any faith in your medical judgement despite whatever previous experience that you may have.

It is a little hard to decipher exactly what you are claiming, but the percentage that you seem to be referring to is the total number of “Covid deaths” divided by the number of “Covid cases”. Both of these numbers are highly suspect.
Since most people who get the now prevalent Delta strain are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms only a small percentage actually get tested. This percentage is unknown but has been estimated by several sources to be around 11%. That means that the actual percentage of people who die after they get coronavirus could easily be 0.13% not 1.3% as you have stated.
But that is just scratching the surface of the statistical nonsense that has been going on with questionable numbers being thrown out by power hungry politicians, the MSM, multinational corporations and of course people such as yourself. The level of BS surrounding the “pandemic” has been deeper than any other subject that I am aware of with the possible exception of global warming which I have no doubt is another grave concern of yours.
