I hate these stories too.. Cannot watch the Kentucky Derby or any horse race. So many beautiful horses die.
im torn...its such a beautiful, spectacular, exciting sport most of time, then, it can go horribly wrong....

Sad days. Beautiful horse that won a bunch of money
But, they push them to the limit
Hated it when Ruffian broke down. Awful.
But these horses want to run. A lady down the road a ways has rescue Thoroughbreds and she said you have to take them out riding on a regular basis or they get cranky, start cribbing their stalls, etc.
