Over 30 years ago, when they were young, I used to tell my kids that they lived better than kings and queens did a hundred years ago.
They would ask me why.
So, I said to them that you have two things they did not:
1. Hot water on demand.
2. A flushing toilet.
It's the simple things, really.
Merry Christmas to you, the Trump Family Train riders, and all of your loved ones!
Luke 2:8-14
“8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
The Baby brought us a great gift: love, forgiveness and peace with God.
Let us receive the Gift with gladness.
Merry Christmas, exit!
Speaking of hot water on demand, hubby talked to his brother yesterday, who told him their year old Rheem water heater went on the fritz.
He had tried to keep it running, finally had to call a repair man, it turned out to be a part that is made in Chy-na and had to be ordered.
They were a week without hot water except what they heated on the stove.
He said he was so thankful to finally have hot water after going without it for a week.
We take so much for granted; we are so blessed.
