UPDATE: Sen. Joe Manchin became the first Democratic cosponsor of SJRes29 tonight, Sen. Braun’s measure to overturn and ban the OSHA vaccine mandate.

That makes 51 co-sponsors in the Senate. The GOP should be able to force debate and vote soon.

In the House, Rep. Keller is running HJRes65, the House companion of SJRes29.

HJRes65 has ~207 GOP cosponsors. There are no Democrat cosponsors.

SEN. MANCHIN, in stmt: “I do not support any government vaccine mandate on private businesses. That’s why I have cosponsored and will strongly support a bill to overturn the federal government vaccine mandate for private businesses.”

Manchin wisely supports a bill to disallow some thing that the federal Courts will disallow anyway. It helps him win reelection in mostly Republican West Virginia. He is a shrewd politician.

Manchin never votes with Republicans on important legislation that will stick.
