The CEOs of two of America’s largest airlines said this week that they do not believe that the Biden administration’s continued mask mandate requiring travelers to wear masks while flying serves much benefit considering the fact that airplanes have advanced filtration systems that remove nearly all airborne contamination from the cabin.
The comments from American Airlines CEO Doug Parker and Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly came on Wednesday during a Senate committee hearing on the financial support the industry received during the pandemic.
CNN reported:
Both Kelly and Parker, who each have announced plans to retire as CEOs in the coming months, mentioned that high-grade HEPA air filters on planes capture virtually all airborne contamination and air quality is helped by how frequently cabin air is exchanged with fresh air from outside the cabin.
“I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment,” Kelly said. “It is very safe and very high quality compared to any other indoor setting.”

My 1st job, besides babysitting, was at JC Penney’s in the gift-wrapping department, my older sister worked with me, we liked to get really creative and we got a lot of praise for our beautiful wrapping.
Ahhh yes. I remember the fun we had planning the island, and who would be in charge of what. IIRC, we were sternly reprimanded about such merriment, as someone visiting our thread actually thought we were serious and went into panic mode. It was all so silly. Boy, that was quite a long time ago....must have been some time in 2016! We’ve been on this thread for THAT long?!

NEW - Germany: Higher Administrative Court in Lower Saxony rules that it is unlawful to allow only vaccinated and recovered persons to enter retail stores.
I for one, am very thankful that after spending the year with everyone at the rallies we just didn’t want to disband and go our own ways.
We had become a family and I’m thankful that Dolly took up the mantle to post the new thread as needed.
And when Dolly couldn’t do it anymore, I’m thankful that Weston stepped up to keep it going.
Sharing the happenings of the last 5 years has been what has kept me moving forward.
We have had people come and go, miss some so very much, others not so much.
I just hope we can keep the TFT going as long as we possibly can.
It’s the greatest place to come to every day!!!!
