What once was a principles-focused Salvation Army has become an ideologically "woke" army, marching to the regressive whims of culture.

For generations, the Salvation Army embodied charity, compassion, and the hope of salvation to a broken world. Over the years, I've embraced the opportunity to volunteer for the Salvation Army by serving meals to the poor and needy and by gleefully ringing the Christmas bell for Red Kettle donations. I loved the many acts of broad and nonstop charity and goodwill the Salvation Army extended to all of humanity, as it was a reminder of the Gospel mission. The Salvation Army had honorable principles and stood reliably strong as an institution in my mind. Until now.
Salvation Army documents reveal that the organization has gone woke. Instead of appreciating all people groups and continuing on an unbiased and uncompromising mission to serve all people compassionately, the Salvation Army now thinks it's somehow okay to view people through the lens of "race." Somewhere deep in its leadership, the Army saw the enemy and embraced it.
Race consideration and connotations are an obvious outcome of Critical Race Theory (CRT), or adjunct theology (Liberation Theology, for instance). Viewing people by race or class is wholly antithetical to any organization committed to providing compassionate and unbiased services to any and all people or groups in need. Woke schemes see everything about human culture in one paradigm: "oppressors vs. oppressed" or "victimizers vs. victims." Without exception, the oppressors and victimizers are "White" by definition.

Judging people based on their appearance sounds like a sin to me. God knows our hearts not the Salvation Army.
LOL...I have been found out!
AMEN! and AMEN!!!
Sigh. I am so sick of this.
I am sick of having to shuffle my business from one company to another because they can’t just do their damned job. I would not even care as much if they gave money to things I abhor, are destructive to this country, and even destructive to them in the end (the irony) and just kept it to themselves.
But they can’t. They have to brag, or worse, inflict it on their customers.
I despise this crap. I have come to view all these Leftists involved in this BS as Foreign and Domestic enemies of this Republic.
Maybe nothing will stop the Leftist rot, but cut off their money and hurt them as much as possible. Only give locally to sources you know personally.
The Salvation Army WAS one of our top charities. We will stand down for a year to see if they return to their original mission. Very sad for the beneficiaries.
I hope that the "leadership" of the Salvation Army and the International Social Justice Commission have set aside funds to make up the losses in donations directly caused by their policy decisions.
I went to the SA material to read it for myself. It is many pages so I didn’t read through it all, but I did read enough to see that only white people can be racists. I didn’t see where POC can be racists toward whites. Only whites are racists and need to apologize. When I see blacks out on the street yelling that white people have to go or when blacks cancel other blacks for agreeing with a white person on a subject and call them names...that’s racism. It works both ways and yet only white people are racists. SA has implemented CRT among their employees and to me it is more brainwashing than anything. SO sad because the SA helped me one time years ago with my rent until I got a job and I have been grateful and give to them every year. That ends today.
Used to take a ton of stuff to SA. No longer. So where should I take this stuff?
We must never forget that our donations supported the Salvation Army’s INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMISSION.
Many inner city churches take clothing etc.
Brilliant! LOL!!!
I agree. My goal is not to be a party to what the left is doing. I don’t automatically assume an organization is good just because they say so.
Giving locally (and sometimes personally) isn’t as easy but it’s better.
I used to contribute large amounts to SA as well. I am sitting it out to see if they “WAKE UP”.
Societal collapse.
I can’t remember the last time I walked past a SA red bucket without dropping in a dollar or two. Even as a child mom would give me a quarter to donate.
Yesterday at Walmart I saw an older lady who volunteers every year for SA. She was wrapped in a blanket out there in the cold for her two hour shift.
I walked by with a heavy heart and mixed feelings.
Maybe next time I will stop and chat with her as I normally would. See what she has to say. I have a feeling she has a heavy heart about it too.
Just an idea to include in your letter:
MLK said that people should be judged not by the color of their skin but rather the content of their character.
The SA has chosen to judge people by the color of their skin.
That is racism.
Anti-white racism is racism.
They can deny it all they want, but the truth is out there now.
SA needs to denounce racism against white people, denounce any programs that support anti-white racism (like “Affirmative Action”) and insist that every person is treated the same regardless of the color of their skin.
I’ve printed my “White privilege in lieu of donation cards”
Now just waiting for the red kettles to appear.
