I love a heated steering wheel. It’s one of those little creature comforts that if you have never had one then you’re not missing anything. On the other hand once you’ve had one it’s a feature you want to have on every vehicle you own.
My 2021 Tacoma did not come with a heated steering wheel although it is an option on some of their models.
Does anyone know if there is a Bona fide heated steering wheel upgrade for a 2021 Tacoma truck?
The problem is the gizmo(technical term) under the airbag has wires going into it only for the functions present on the steering wheel already.
My horn stopped working on my Tacoma. I had to replace a part that was on the steering column under the airbag. You have to take the airbag out first, then take the wheel off. There is a wiring harness that has four wires. One for the horn. One for the airbag. One for the bluetooth phone controls. One for the stereo controls.
So, if it was not a factory option, it would be very difficult to add.
Buy a pair of gloves. I have two in my glove box. I used them for the first time this year this morning.
If you are going to install the auto start you may want to have it done at the dealership. I had mine done when I bought it at the dealership because they said IF it was done by anyone else it voided the warranty. That was 9 years ago though.
FYI, I am on my third Tacoma(1988, 1999, 2012)
That’s the one! But I doubt she’ll ever come out of it. She seems brain-washed to the very core.
This is so crazy! I have a 2012 which someone ran into so I got a rental car for the time it was in the shop. The “dashboard” vents in the 2021 model of my car were down closer to my knees than to anywhere else!
So I will probably switch to another type of car. I love the feel of my car, stable yet light and brisk, but don’t like the heating system I have now, which at least has the outlets in the right places! (To little heat on feet).
Some you can’t even choose the dash vents as an option when the heater is on, it will only switch to those if you are using A/C. I never figured out why not with either hot or cold if you like.
More and more I’m hoping my next car is a classic (ie, close to my age or older!)
In today’s market you can sell yours for more than you paid for it and special order the one with the options you want.
I hope you are able to do that! I wish more would quit supporting these greedy auto companies. I am in the fix up business so I would not have it any other way. I would rather dump 20 grand into an old Classic before I ever buy a new car. Never have bought a new car, always fixed up classics and had a real car when I was done. Current project is a 78 van I converted to 4X4. Now building it into a camper van with a pop top. :)
