Ha! I live in the area and even the locals argue about how to pronounce it and where the accent is. WALK-uh-shaw. Wa-KEY-shaw. WALK-ih-shaw.
Having spent time in nearby Waukegan (Wa-KEE-gun), I assumed it was Wa-KEE-shuh. Seems that was wrong based on how most “locals” I’ve heard pronounce it.
