smiley:Symbolism will be their downfall.
Mayflower: I’ve never been in a Protestant church with a statue — at least not a fundamental one. As a preacher’s kid, I grew up in Protestant churches so have seen hundreds. Some will have a cross in front (not a crucifix), but others even frown on a simple cross, as it’s “graven”.
As for stained glass, we have pictures but no images of Christ, “saints”, etc.

So now you are equating paintings from St. Catherine’s Cathedral/Monastery, and thus Gen. Flynn’s posting an image, and his use of the “seven rays of light”, with Q’s statement “their symbolism will be their downfall”.
What part of “WWG1WGA” do you not get? What about Gen. Flynn’s statment I posted earlier today? About religious freedom and respect? Condemning everyone whose religious beliefs differ from one’s own is what has led to mass slaughter and wars. Not exactly “unity”. Who else wants us divided by race, religion, and so on?
Reposting parts of this because it is very important.
@RealGenFlynn
A couple of points to address this nonsense- and I’m addressing this because we have far more serious problems at hand that our country is facing and this will be the end of it for me—others may have the time, I don’t:
Prayers and praying: I pray a lot, always have and always will. As I’ve said, they can take away your freedom but never your faith. If I’ve said prayers, they’re meant for good purposes, nothing more nothing less. Period.
Whatever your religion, you decide. Mine is of the Catholic faith…and I do believe we are one nation under God. The left is trying to cause division and are desperate to remove God from everything (let’s not let them do that).
Judges and judging: For all the so called people of faith, there are a lot of judges among you all. Keep in mind who the ultimate Judge is and it ain’t me. What I do believe is that we have very serious issues to deal with right here in the United States of America and these massive issues are where we should be focusing our energy.
Now it’s back to my grandkids who I’m trying to spend some precious and quality time with.
God bless America!

What part of WWG1WGA don’t I get??? I’m still waiting for for a response here. https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/4015365/posts?page=617#617 I did not accuse Flynn of satanism. Nor did I “Condemning everyone whose religious beliefs differ from one’s own is what has led to mass slaughter and wars. Not exactly “unity”.” I did not condemn anyone, as you have now accused. You did.
I have questions about a very odd statement by Flynn, coupled with some other stuff I’ve come across —it’s very new agey stuff. The statement from Flynn today is neutral, from my perspective. Flynn is probably a great guy, and Christian too, but it’s okay if people on the thread don’t agree with your every thought, emotion, and post. WWG1WGA does not mean that everyone agrees with your take on everything. It is not cool to have topics banned and cast out because you do not agree with the content, or it upsets you; you create derision, and then have said topics banished to festival or some auslander thread. Your habit of conflating one thing into a larger thing, for whatever reason or purpose, is obvious.
A perfect example of this conflation is your response to MayflowerMadam https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/4015365/posts?page=1053#1053. She had questions too about Flynn’s statement, but yet you go on and on and post sideways arguments. That is not WWG1WGA, that is driving the thread to suit your own purpose or narrative, whatever that may be.
I just got back from Catholic Mass, and yes there were lots of statues, people even pray before them and light candles, and sometimes touch them in reverence. And yes I grew up in a Protestant church, and we had no statues per se, stained glass, but our stained glass had some pictures in them as I recall.
I did not equate “paintings from St. Catherine’s Cathedral/Monastery, and thus Gen. Flynn’s posting an image, and his use of the “seven rays of light”, with Q’s statement “their symbolism will be their downfall”.” I am pointing out that there are symbols and hidden messages in things going on around us, which Q told us. Including prayers and historical objects.
Be wise and look twice and think thrice, before emoting.
“What part of ‘WWG1WGA’ do you not get?”
I don’t get ANY part of WWG1WGA. I’ve skimmed post titles and seen that, usually in conjunction with that Q stuff, which I also don’t get and never followed. Seemed cult-y to me.
“Condemning everyone whose religious beliefs differ from one’s own is what has led to mass slaughter and wars.”
I wasn’t “condemning” anyone, but just commenting on your ill-informed rash generalization that ALL Catholic AND Protestant churches have graven images when that’s not true. Before bloviating on a subject, bone up on it.
“Not exactly ‘unity’.”
Honestly, “unity” in the form of ecumenicalism has harmed Christianity more than helped. It has diluted the faith.
