I remember the first time I heard Rush.In January of ‘89 we were vacationing in Florida (the Sarasota area) and one afternoon we were driving down I-75 and I just happened to tune to WFLA in Tampa. Rush was on,talking,and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. After about 30 minutes I just about drove off the road...”this guy thinks just like me!” I said. Well,it was a few years before he made it to Boston radio (this was long before iHeart Radio) and the rest was history!

I just referenced him yesterday how all the media were saying the exact same thing about how Darnell was fleeing a knife fight

All in unison, same words, at the same time on the morning news

I can’t remember the year but the place was Richmond, Virginia.
My next delivery couldn’t be made until the next morning, I parked in an alley beside my next delivery and kicked back. My tv wouldn’t pick anything up, too many tall buildings around me. I turned on the radio and got squat on the FM dial so I tried the AM. Only one station came in and it was playing commercials.
Then there was the sound of the theme song for the movie Born Free. Then the sound of shotgun blasts. I had to find out what it was about.
This guy came on the air named Rush Limbaugh.
Seems some rabbits had been introduced into the ecosystem in New Zealand and with no natural predators to control them they were ruining crops and making a mess of things. The New Zealand government had authorized a bounty of something like $1/rabbit (dead) brought in.
PETA was going bonkers protesting the slaughter of those innocent bunnies.
Rush was trolling them with the song with the gun fire added.
I was hooked.
