I'm not going to blame Travis Scott for this, anymore than I'm going to blame "old white guys." Fact is, and as someone who has attended many, many rock concerts, it doesn't take much for a spark to turn into a conflagration. Unruly crowds can be scary. Ask The Who. Ask Pearl Jam. Both very white bands have seen tragedy erupt at concerts.

One of the scariest times in my life was at Red Rocks seeing Megadeth when the very drunk crowd waiting in line for the admission gates to open starter throwing projectiles.

Sometimes bad sh*t happens at these things.

Massive crowds can be very unpredictable. And easily provoked.

“Massive crowds can be very unpredictable. And easily provoked.”

Which is why as a rule we avoid them.

Sorry, going to have to disagree with you here.

Ive been at two events where a top name band was performing and stopped due to crowd behevior issues. At one “we arent going to play until that guy is removed” and the other was “we wont play until [those people] stop [that behavior]”.

In the first the offender popped out of the top of the crowd and was passed hand over hand until chucked out and in the second there was a brief commotion on the floor and the crowd adjusted the trouble makers views on appropriate behavior.

Yes, things can happen and suddenly. In this case the problems were already evident and occurring during the previous act. He should have never taken the stage and he certainly shouldnt have instigated the event that resulted.
