Yes, I studied figs a bit when doing a sermon. Apparently, fig leaves secrete something that will cause rashes and even burns. The listeners who knew something about fig trees would see Adam and eve’s choice of clothing quite different than others.

A fig leaf was the first ATTEMPT at clothing. Massive Fail.
The LORD came to the rescue very quickly; but it was at the cost of a sheep life.
And .... you can read about it in the first book of the
Bible.
