I entered this thread to be educated/informed. When I saw entry after entry of kitty and emoji, all I did was ask a man who had posted an intelligent comment, why all the kittys.

Every thread starts with people posting “IN” (to announce arrival to the new thread) sometimes along with silly cat-gifs and memes and such
This activity tends to wind down after 75-100 posts
Not certain the “whys” of said ritual, just scroll past them to the posts that interest you... I am sure a lot of people do that.
